Granular carbon certificates
for every dispatch event.

Annual carbon accounting is meaningless for grid-connected assets. The carbon intensity of electricity changes every 30 minutes. AmpVerve Carbon generates timestamped, location-specific, verified carbon certificates from every flexibility dispatch event — the evidence base for genuine 24/7 carbon matching.

Carbon matching vs annual average certificates

Annual averages
hide the truth.

Most organisations report Scope 2 emissions using annual average grid carbon intensity. This creates a misleading picture. An EV fleet charging at 02:00 when wind generation is high uses fundamentally different electricity than one charging at 18:00 when gas peakers are running.

Sustainability frameworks are moving toward hourly and half-hourly matching. GRESB, CDP, and the Science Based Targets initiative are all signalling this direction. AmpVerve Carbon gives you the evidence base to report accurately today.

📊
Annual averages obscure real impact
A 100kWh charge at 02:00 in January may displace 15kg CO2. The same charge at 17:00 in December may displace 50kg CO2. Annual averages report the same 32.5kg for both. Neither organisation can tell the real story.
📍
Location matters, national averages do not
Carbon intensity varies significantly by grid region. South West England (high solar and wind penetration) has substantially lower intensity than the Midlands during daytime hours. National averages flatten this entirely.
📄
Frameworks are ahead of the evidence
GRESB now scores buildings on whether they can demonstrate 24/7 renewable matching. NHS net-zero programme requires granular carbon reporting by site. Most organisations cannot provide this because the underlying data does not exist.
🔗
Flexibility and carbon are the same transaction
When an EV fleet shifts charging from 18:00 to 01:00 in response to a flexibility dispatch event, it simultaneously reduces carbon emissions. AmpVerve’s dispatch data is already capturing this. Carbon Carbon makes it visible and certifiable.

Four capabilities.
One carbon record.

🌿
Granular carbon certificates
Every dispatch event in AmpVerve generates a carbon certificate: timestamped, location-specific, and cross-referenced against National Grid ESO’s Carbon Intensity API (half-hourly, 14 grid regions). Each certificate records the exact carbon displaced by the flexibility action, not an annual average estimate.
📋
Framework-ready Scope 2 reports
Carbon displacement reports formatted for GRI 305 (Scope 2 location-based and market-based), TCFD climate-related disclosures, GRESB real estate and infrastructure, CDP Climate Change questionnaire, and NHS Greener NHS programme documentation. One data source. All frameworks covered.
🕐
24/7 carbon matching
AmpVerve’s dispatch engine already shifts demand toward hours of lower carbon intensity as a secondary optimisation objective alongside revenue. Carbon certificates verify this matching at the half-hour level for data centre customers, universities, and commercial buildings targeting 100% matched renewable electricity by the clock hour.
📈
Integrated with AmpVerve Settle
Carbon certificates are generated in the same pipeline as financial settlement records. Every flexibility dispatch produces both a revenue settlement entry and a carbon certificate in a single, cryptographically linked audit trail. No separate carbon accounting process. No reconciliation required between financial and carbon reporting.

Five sectors with
a carbon reporting obligation.

Organisation type
Why they need granular carbon certificates
NHS Trusts
NHS net-zero programme requires site-level, asset-level carbon reporting. Annual averages do not satisfy NHS England’s Greener NHS reporting requirements for large emitters.
Local Authority Fleets
TCFD-aligned reporting now required for local authorities above certain asset thresholds. EV fleet electrification without granular carbon evidence does not satisfy the reporting obligation.
Data Centres
GRESB Infrastructure Assessment now includes 24/7 carbon matching as a scored criterion. Hyperscaler customer sustainability requirements increasingly mandate hourly carbon matching evidence.
Universities
GRESB Real Estate Assessment. Russell Group sustainability commitments. Research funding body requirements. PPA and renewable tariff verification against actual consumption timing.
Commercial Real Estate
GRESB, CRREM, EPC, and tenant sustainability requirements. Net zero operational carbon targets requiring evidence beyond annual average REGOs.
